According to the official status panel records of Google Workspace, this malfunction began around 5am Pacific Time on Saturday. Affected users have reported that a large number of emails that should have been classified under tags such as “promotion” and “social” have flooded into the main inbox, while emails from known contacts have been mistakenly marked as spam. User feedback such as’ all spam emails go straight to inbox ‘and’ filtering system suddenly crashes’ appears on social media.

During the malfunction, Google continued to update the progress of its handling, and finally announced on Saturday evening that the service had been fully restored. The official statement stated, “Some users have encountered issues with misclassification and delayed reception of emails. Emails received during the malfunction period may temporarily still display incorrect spam labels

Google stated that it will release a detailed incident analysis report after completing an internal investigation. This malfunction occurred on January 24, 2026, and all services have now resumed normal operation.

Facebook started testing new profile achievement badges. This feature rewards users for actions on the platform. Facebook calls this a “Profile” badge system. The social media giant wants to make using Facebook more engaging. Users might earn badges for posting photos. They might get badges for joining groups too. Badges could come from connecting with friends. Facebook is testing this feature right now. The test is happening in a few specific regions. Not all users will see these badges yet. Facebook thinks badges will encourage more activity. The company hopes badges create a fun experience. They want people to feel rewarded for participating. This idea is called gamification. Gamification adds game elements to regular tasks. The badges will show directly on user profiles. Other people visiting a profile could see the badges. Facebook users might notice these new additions soon. Facebook states this is an early experiment. The company is exploring ways to enhance profiles. Facebook believes badges highlight user contributions. The goal is to recognize participation. Some users might worry about privacy. Others might find badges motivating. Facebook says it is listening to feedback. The company will adjust the feature based on reactions. Facebook wants to see if users enjoy collecting badges. They are testing if badges make Facebook more interesting. The badges represent different activities. Facebook is trying to understand user preferences. The test will help decide the future of badges. Facebook might expand the test later. The company might also decide not to launch badges widely. For now, Facebook is gathering information. They want to know what users think.

Facebook is trying something new. The company is testing a “Minimalist” mode for its News Feed. This is happening right now. A small group of users can try it. This test is happening globally. Facebook wants to see how people like it.

<img decoding="async" class="size-medium wp-image-5057 aligncenter" src="https://www.369news.net/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/87d6226d63e3fa9b9f448d4b8aa28f98.jpg" alt="Facebook Tests A "Minimalist" Mode For News Feed " width="380" height="250">

(Facebook Tests A “Minimalist” Mode For News Feed)

This “Minimalist” mode offers a simpler look. It strips away many extras people see normally. Users get mostly text updates. Photos and videos are still there. They just appear smaller and less prominent. Reels might not take up the whole screen either. The idea is to reduce distractions. People might focus better on posts from friends and family.

Facebook calls this an experiment. They want to understand user preferences. Some people feel overwhelmed by the busy News Feed. This mode gives them a calmer option. It makes scrolling feel less intense. Users can choose to turn it on or off. The test is limited. Only a few people have access currently. Facebook will watch how these users interact with it.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-medium wp-image-5057 aligncenter" src="https://www.369news.net/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/270b094901222ef6234fc055f03c47dd.jpg" alt="Facebook Tests A "Minimalist" Mode For News Feed " width="380" height="250">

(Facebook Tests A “Minimalist” Mode For News Feed)

                 The company gathers feedback. They want to know if people use it. They also want to know if people keep using it. This helps decide the feature’s future. Facebook always tweaks its platform. This is another step in that process. Making News Feed better for everyone is the goal. Simplicity might appeal to many users. Facebook has billions of users worldwide. Even small changes affect many people. This test focuses on improving the core experience. Less clutter could help users connect more meaningfully. Facebook hopes users find value in this option. The test results will guide next steps.
